Miss Connie Cogan, “Dr. Danz,” and Director of Dance at Southwest School of Dance, has over twenty five years of extensive dance training in jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical and drill team technique.

Her career began as a student at Susan’s School of Dance, where her fierce determination, skill, and leadership propelled her from student to assistant demonstrator at just twelve years old.

As a high school student at Lockport Township High School, she led her dance team to four years of excellence. Under her direction as team captain and lead choreographer, Miss Connie and the Lockport Porterettes garnered an Illinois State Pom Title (’96), and a Second Place Kick Trophy.

At nineteen, Miss Connie, became a principal instructor and continued to perfect her skills by becoming the Coach of Susan’s Competitive Team (SSSTeam 2003). Her enthusiasm for dance overflowed into the community in 2007, when she choreographed a State Finish for the Providence Catholic High School Pom Team, and 2nd place State Finish in 2008.

As the Director of Southwest School of Dance, she is committed to developing the natural creativity, expression and confidence in each child whose life she touches. Since earning a Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (UIC ’06), Miss Connie serves her community as a Licensed Pharmacist, dance instructor, and Head Team Coach of the LEGENDS PERFORMANCE COMPANY at the Southwest School of Dance.

She enjoys the opportunity to impact the lives of youth through her passion for excellence through dance.
